Our beloved Emma Lozano went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 7th, 2018. She took her last breath surrounded by her loving family.
She was born September 18, 1943 in San Angelo, the daughter of Richard P. Lopez and Luisa Orozco Lopez. She graduated from Central High School and later LVN school. She retired after 35 years at Community Hospital. She was a member of Solid Rock Church.
She is survived by her son, Petey Lozano Jr. and wife Teresa of Christoval, two daughters, Bernice Urteaga and husband Lino of San Angelo and Edna Casanova and husband Ramon of Boerne, two sisters, Martha Becerra and husband Santos, Beatrice Guebara and husband Bernie, both of San Angelo, a brother, Richard O. Lopez and wife Lauren of Surprise, Arizona. She is also survived by eight grandchildren Anthony Castillo and wife Jessica, Dasha and Cody Urteaga, Mia, Celeste, and Azalia Lozano, Olivia and Matthew Casanova, as well as three great-grandchildren Aiden Castillo, Josiah and Nicholas.
Emma was a woman whose love and kind spirit was felt by all who knew her. Her heart was always open to anyone in need. Her kindness was even shared with her patients she served as a nurse for over 35 years. She was a faithful employee of Angelo Community Hospital and took pride in her work and those she worked with.
The family will always cherish the legacy she left for her children and grandchildren. She was a hard worker and believed in making an honest living. She was a patriot at heart and loved her country; she would even stand for the national anthem in her living room, with her hand over her heart as it played before the NFL football games. She was a woman of faith and boldly shared her faith with anyone. The children and grandchildren will forever hold in their hearts the teaching and instruction of faith that she so often shared. Even throughout her last days of pain, Emma continued to declare her faith and love for God. When the time came to discuss her time left in this life, Emma boldly stated to her family and even the doctor in the room, “No matter what happens, whether I live or die, I am victorious.”
The Lord knew Emma’s love for Him. In her last moments of life, with her last remaining strength, Emma declared, “I am ready to go home.” She lifted her finger, pointed upwards, and then boldly stated, “Tonight.” The Lord honored her, and within 25 minutes, our dear Emma went home with her Lord and Savior. This is the legacy she leaves for her Children and Grandchildren. To love God and country, live for God, and walk in faith.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Prieto, Dr. Boyd, Dr. Graham and their staff. In addition, the family sends a sincere thank you to the attending nurses and medical staff of San Angelo Community Medical Center.
