Patricia “Jeanne” Wilson was born on June 17th, 1933 in Kaufman, TX to Kate Allen Dickson and Samuel Bryan Dickson. Jeanne went to be with Jesus on July 6th, 2018 at 85 years old.
Jeanne was the third of four beautiful daughters who shared a passion for family. Her family moved to San Angelo, TX when she was just a young girl.
Jeanne was an active member of the First Christian Church of San Angelo where she was an avid singer in the choir. She sang all over town at different events and her passion for music filled every room when she would sing. At a young age, Jeanne worked at Cox Rush & Greer where she learned how to wrap beautiful gifts which benefited her family for many years.
Jeanne passed on a lot of memories about growing up in San Angelo to her grandchildren who loved to hear the stories. These were shared once, twice, maybe six times.
Jeanne attended San Angelo College, where she was an Angelette and a very proud student. She went on to graduate from North Texas with a Teaching Degree. Jeanne came from a long line of very gifted educators, and she began teaching at an elementary school in Fort Worth, TX when she was introduced to the love of her life, Lawrence Ronald Wilson. These two would spend the next 61 years together. Their first date was to see the movie Around the World in 80 Days. Soon after, they were married on June 2nd 1957 just a few days after Lawrence was discharged from the military.
Lawrence and Jeanne had two children, Lawrence Ronald Wilson Jr. and Kelley Elizabeth Wilson. They lived and traveled as a family all over the United States and Europe, while making wonderful memories together.
Jeanne was also an artist and painted beautiful pieces of scenery she had seen on her many adventures. She loved the beauty and simplicity of wildflowers and would often take trips to the hill country to see them.
Jeanne was also an amazing seamstress and loved creating unique and beautiful pieces of clothing for her family and many others. She taught several people how to cook and fed her family all while creating laughter and making incredible memories.
Jeanne loved to play the piano, sing, and listen to music and would always have music playing in her house. Her love for music was instilled in her family and they will always remember how much she loved piano pieces from Giovanni, Barry Manilow, and The Beegees.
Jeanne loved Jesus more than anything else in this world and was the epitome of a Godly woman. She dedicated most of her life spreading the gospel to anyone who would listen.
Jeanne also loved coffee, almost as much as she loved Jesus. You would never find her without a fresh cup of coffee. If you did, there was something wrong.
One of her famous phrases was “Meanwhile back at the ranch…” which could mean just about anything. It was her favorite way of starting a sentence and would almost always make everyone in the room laugh. Jeanne had the most infectious laugh that would turn anyone’s frown upside down.
When her family would tell her that they loved her, she would almost always respond with, “Not as much as I love you…”
Jeanne is preceded in death by her father and mother, Samuel Bryan Dickson and Kate Allen Dickson, and her step mother, Martha Lou Dickson. Her three sisters, Mary Catherine Cheek, Elsie Rankin, and Allene Martin. Her granddaughter, Kristen Leigh Millican, and grandson, Tomi Wilson.
