Joe C. Rodriguez, age 60, of San Angelo, passed away Tuesday, June 5th, at Baylor Hospital in Dallas.
He was born February 15, 1958 in San Angelo, the son of Henry and Elva Cervantez Rodriguez. Following graduation from high school, he served in the U. S. Navy from 1976 until 1980 when he was Honorably discharged.
He later received his B. A. degree from Angelo State University. He was an active member of Sacred Heart Cathedral where he worked with the youth department, was actively involved with the prayer group, helped fix meals for the families after funerals, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by three sisters, Elizabeth R. Stafford and husband Bob of Waxahachie, Deborah Rodriguez of San Angelo and Birdie Lopez and husband Jaime of San Angelo, several nieces and nephews including Jennifer Gibson, Joe Henry Rodriguez, Justin Gibson, Samantha Thompson, Donna Bailey, James Lopez, and Benjamin Stafford.
Visitation will be held from 6 - 8 p.m. on Sunday at Johnson's Funeral Chapel with rosary recited at 7 p.m.. Funeral mass will be officiated at 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Cathedral with burial following at Belvedere Cemetery.
