Richard Dale Ramirez, age 69, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones on Saturday April 21, 2018.
Richard was born February 10, 1949 in San Angelo to Nicholas and Concepcion Ramirez. He attended Central High School.
Richard was a well know musician, playing in San Angelo & surrounding communities as well as on the road. Playing music was his passion and he spent over 50 years in the music scene doing what he loved. He never turned down an opportunity to play, whether it was for a fundraiser or a paying gig. Richard loved the outdoors so when he was not on stage he could be found working on different ranches in the Knickerbocker area. He was one of the co-founders of the Chicken Farm Art Center along with good friends Roger Allen and Bill Rich. Although he chose to pursue music instead of his talents as clay artist, Richard continued to support the Chicken Farm Art Center. When you met Richard for the first time, he made you feel like a life long friend. That was the kind of man he was.
A Memorial service will be held Thursday April 26, 2018 at 4:00 pm at Harper Funeral home. There will be a wake at the Knickerbocker Community Center immediately following the memorial.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; Nicholas & Concepcion Ramirez and his brother Nicholas Ramirez Jr.
He is survived by his son Amos Ramirez and his wife Ivette Ramírez of San Angelo; his son Seth Ramirez of San Angelo; his daughter Nicky Ramirez of Knickerbocker; his son Ty Ramirez of Knickerbocker; granddaughter Indie Jones; grandsons Luca Ramirez & Dietz Goetz; Brother Jerry Ramirez and his wife Debra, Sister Cathryn Ramsdale his two faithful companions Dude and Baba; and his soulmate Lois Ann Crownover.
