Carlos Gonzalez Rios, Sr. “Chale” beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away January 8, 2018 at the age of 75. He was born November 18, 1942 in San Angelo, TX. to parents Luis and Petra Rios.
Carlos married Ester Solis on December 8, 1962 and had five beautiful children. He was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on February 26, 1974. Carlos worked for Alexander Construction and Central Builders for 57 years. He enjoyed dancing, singing, 4-wheeling, fishing, and Kingdom Hall builds. He was loving and had a wonderful sense of humor. He loved to make people smile and laugh. He could think of a song for every subject someone would bring up. He always encouraged his children to make peace and be forgiving, his concern was for them to take care of each other. He saw the best in people and gave without asking anything in return. He knew no strangers, he spoke to everyone he met and was always ready to help. The Fruitage of the Spirit that he most displayed were love, patience, and kindness. His kindness will forever be a beacon to our family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Ester S. Rios; Children Carlos G. Rios Jr. and Maria Rios, David and Ida Rios, AnaVelia and Mario Hernandez, Yolanda S. Rios, Maria Isabel and Terry Kuhlman; Grandchildren Ranae Lively, Joshua and Azalea DelaRosa, Luis and Sara Rios, Emma DelaRosa, Thomas and Heather Rios, Sierra and Jacob Braaten, Caleb Kuhlman, Patricia Rios, Daneila and Andrew Nava, Ethan Kuhlman, Jake Kuhlman, Dylan Kuhlman, and five great grandchildren; His sisters Josefina Andrade, Rebecca Andrade, and Librada “Lilly” Rios.
He is preceded in death by his parents Luis P. and Petra G. Rios and brother Luis Rios Jr.
A viewing service is to be held Friday, January 12, 2018 from 12-8 PM at Harper Funeral Home 2606 Southland Blvd. A memorial service is to be held Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses 2021 Pulliam St. in San Angelo, TX. His favorite song #38 “He will make you strong” from “Sing out Joyfully” to Jehovah will be sung.
