Dennis Lance Winterrowd, age 77 from San Angelo, Texas, departed from this life to be with his Heavenly Father on February 28, 2017. He was born October 23, 1939 in Big Spring, Texas to Ross Earl and Sarah Edith Winterrowd, and lived most of his life in West Texas. He was married June 30, 1961 to his beloved wife, Mary Read Winterrowd, also of Big Spring, and they recently celebrated 55 years of marriage. Dennis was a graduate of Pecos High School and Angelo State University. Dennis climbed the ranks at Ethicon, Inc. in San Angelo, Texas, starting as a Class C electrician, and retired as an Engineering Manager with 38 years of service. Most importantly, the lives that he touched with his workplace humor, and his heart to see the people around him realize their potential will never be forgotten by the people that he interacted with throughout his career. Dennis was known as "Mr. Fix-it". There was no job that he would not tackle, and his perseverance and mechanical inclination led him to achieve some amazing feats - but by the end of each project, there was usually a funny story to tell of some of the fix attempts that didn't quite work as planned. Dennis was a goal-setter, and he achieved some amazing things, from obtaining his private pilot license to completing marathons, he gained satisfaction from making his vision a reality. He loved the game of golf, and was a lucky hunter and fisherman. Most importantly, Dennis loved His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and his heart's desire was to walk faithfully with him. He had a true servant's heart, and is known by his countless examples of generosity, well-placed words of encouragement, touches of kindness, and helping hands, which made a difference in the lives of his family and all within his circle of influence. Dennis is survived by his wife, Mary Read Winterrowd, of San Angelo, Texas, a son, Lance Read Winterrowd, and wife Mary of San Antonio, Texas, and a daughter, Julie Winterrowd Quade and husband Steven of San Angelo, Texas. Services will be held at Glen Meadows Baptist Church in San Angelo, Texas on Friday, March 3rd, at 2:00 PM, followed with burial at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Dennis loved the ministry of House of Faith in San Angelo, and the family requests that donations be made to this organization in lieu of flowers.
