Frank Efrain Hernandez 63, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2017.
Frank was born May 25, 1953 to Macario and Celia Hernandez in Harligen, Texas. The family moved to San Angelo where Frank attended Central High School and later attended and graduated from Angelo State University. He graduated from the University of Houston with a Doctor of Juris Prudence in December of 1981 and later attended Universada PanAmericana De Derecho Law School in Mexico City, Mexico.
For over 25 years Frank worked together with his brother Joe Hernandez at Hernandez and Associates Law Firm. He was a constitutional scholar who fiercely fought for all the rights of individuals. When he came to defending clients no one could top his writing and research skills. His brother Joe Hernandez relied on Frank and his legal opinions as he would come up with answers to legal questions better than anyone.
He strived to be kind to others, was giving and generous. Frank would literally take the shirt off his back to give to a needy person. He was a devoted catholic who attended and was a member of St. Mary’s Church as he had attended together with his siblings the St. Mary’s Catholic School until its closing.
Frank was passionate with his hobbies which included car racing, race horses and collecting custom motorcycles. He loved working side by side with his wife, Monette and volunteering his time during the Southside Lions Club Cinco De Mayo Carshow. There was so much excitement in seeing what the people who participated had to bring and he loved the work the individuals put into their cars, motorcycles and/or bicycles. If he could give an award to everyone he would. But Frank’s main passion was the Law. Frank loved teaching the law and his best pupil was Laura Ortiz, he would go over whatever case they were working on making sure that she understood and was able to give him the right answers when he would test her.
He will be dearly missed by all those who knew him. Frank is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 38 years, Monette Molinar, his parents Macario and Celia Hernandez, his in-laws Raul and Delma Molinar.
