Ronald (Ronnie) Dean Strain of San Angelo, TX passed away unexpectedly at the age of 61. Ronnie resided in San Angelo, TX. Ronald passed away during a tragic fishing accident on Friday Oct. 21 2016. He was fishing at Lake Nasworthy, a common favorite past time with his best little fishing buddy and grandson, Braxton Jewell who also passed in the same accident.
Ronald was born in Lubbock TX, on Jan 1, 1955. He was son to Wylie and Bessie Strain of Slaton, Texas. He was a graduate of Slaton High School. He is survived by his two brothers, Randall (R.C.) and Richard Strain and his sister Gayle strain. Ronald Strain was married to his longtime, high school sweetheart Lyndolyn Mae White. They were married on July 2, 1977. Ronald was enjoying his recent retirement and the living the life of "Grandpa". Ronald is survived by his three children, Dustin Strain and his wife Erin of Denton, TX. Also survived are his 2 daughters, Heather and Ronda Strain of San Angelo. Ronald also has 2 surviving grandchildren Sierra and Canyon Strain (the children of Dustin). Ronald enjoyed and loved his family and friends more than anything else. He lived his life for his children and grandchildren. He had such an amazing heart and was full of love. He lived an honest and fulfilling life, serving as a great mentor and role model to his children and grandchildren, including sweet Braxton. He had a heart that was huge and loved everyone. He was known to many as Papa Strain, Grandpa, friend, pops, Uncle Ronnie, Boss and the terms of endearment go on and on, just as the pain of his tragic loss.
Ronald is preceded in death by his lovely wife Lyndolyn who passed on March 23, 1998. Also, he will be joining his mother and father and several other family members and friends in Heaven.
Services will be held in San Angelo Texas. Visitation will be at Harper Funeral Home on Thursday Oct. 27, 2016 from 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be held at Freedom Fellowship Church, officiated by Senior Pastor, Harold Watkins on Oct. 28, 2016 at 1:00.
