Weldon “Glyn” Jameson age 68 of San Angelo is now walking in the pasture, with his Lord and savior, beside the still waters. He went home peacefully surrounded by family.
Glyn was born April 23, 1947 in Roscoe TX, to Fred and Cornia Jameson. His grandparents were pioneers of ranching which spanned over 133 years.
Glyn moved to San Angelo from Silver, TX in 1958. He graduated from Central High School and attended ASU studying agriculture. Glyn served in the National Guard for 6 years in the 36th infantry as a Tanker.
He began a lifetime of ranching Hereford Cattle in Tom Green and Coke counties. In 1982 he began a commercial deer hunting operation. From 1982 to 2014 he was a Commissioned Deputy Game Warden. He also served as a director of West Texas Boys Ranch.
In April 2000, he married Nita Byrd. They shared many years working together and enjoying the ranch. Ruidoso was also a favorite place they visited often. Glyn really enjoyed fishing with his family and friends. Glyn loved the Lord. He was a member of Victory Christian Center, and served as a deacon. Glyn had a tender heart and truly enjoyed fellowshipping with the elderly.
Glyn was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Nita, oldest son Jonathan with son Caleb and fiancé Paige with son Ryan. Glyn’s youngest son is Jared. Glyn’s brother, Larry Jameson with wife Barbara. His niece Tiffany and husband Jeff Smith with sons Braden and Jackson. Nephew Brent with wife Sandy, Son Pierce daughter Auburn. Five Cousins, Marger, Melba, Donna, Billie Fred, and Elna.
Memorial Service is at Victory Christian Center Wednesday, April 13 at 2:00 PM.
