Leona Seidel Hailey was born April 16, 1925 in Rowena, TX to William and Josephine Hoelscher. She was married to Evarist Seidel June 30, 1948 who died in 1971, later married Wesley Fox who passed away in 1981, later married Raymond Hailey who died in 2003. Survivors are son Stuart Seidel and wife C. Ann Seidel; daughter Kathy Seidel; grandson, Shawn Seidel and wife Leesha Seidel; granddaughter, Melissa Wahlfeld and husband Rich Wahlfeld; grandsons, Chase Blanek and Colin Blanek; great grandchildren, Makenzie Seidel, Cooper Wahlfeld and Caymon Blanek; stepsons, Bill Fox and Steve Hailey; sister, Ernestine Lange and husband Arnold Lange; sister-in-law, Joy Hoelscher; also many loving nieces, nephews and special neighbor and friend Marcia Esser. Leona was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Lawrence Hoelscher, Olga Kessler, Herbert Hoelscher, Arthur Hoelscher, Elnora Hayden, Elizabeth Braden, Fred Hoelscher, Edwin Hoelscher; and grandchild Ryle Davis Blanek. Leona was a faithful member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. During her lifetime, Leona enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boating on many Texas lakes and deep-sea fishing on the Gulf Coast. She most enjoyed sharing her love of the water with her family on many special trips. Leona played women's league baseball during the early 40's. She enjoyed bowling for many years and loved a good spirited game of dominoes. Above all else, she valued her faith, family, and friends. Her home was always filled with great love, food, drinks, and conversation. In lieu of flowers, we ask that a donation be made to a charity of your choice in Leona Seidel Hailey's memory. Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Holy Angels Catholic Church with burial to follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
