Noah Daniel Whitaker was born December 13, 1997 in San Angelo, Texas to Susan Erika Whitaker and Jimmy Randel Whitaker. He died October 20, 2015, at age 17, in full assurance of God’s sovereign provision for his life.
Noah was a Senior at Central High School and also attended Glenmore Elementary School, Lee Middle School, Glenn Middle School and Lake View High School. Noah was an enthusiastic saxophone player and member of the Mighty Bobcat Band, Key Club, and DECA at C.H.S. As a faithful member of Southland Baptist Church, Noah was active in the Youth Group, Orchestra and Youth Choir. He was a former member of Boy Scout Troop 22. As a student at Lake View, Noah participated in jazz band, marching band, and One Act Play.
Noah was a treasured son and brother. Additionally, Noah loved well and was well loved by his church, band and school families. He delighted in making people laugh by entertaining them with well-practiced jokes and magic tricks or just by being his zany self. Noah had an affinity for rock and rap music, was a devoted Harry Potter fan and was rarely seen without his Dr. Pepper. Noah was fully confident in who he was as a creation of God and was not swayed by the world’s expectations. Noah’s brother, Jacob, said it best: “Noah was the essence of mellowed out and chill and was also very protective of his family.”
Noah is preceded in death by his grandparents, Wahneta and Jimmy Randel Whitaker, Sr., and his aunt Catherine Underwood. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his beloved brother Jacob Randel Whitaker; his grandparents Grace Whitaker and Erika and James Underwood; his aunts and uncles Frieda Underwood, Lynne (Tom) Jones, Lori (Roy) Griffin, Melinda (Ron) Rose, Jeff (Lizette) Whitaker, and Jason Whitaker along with a large group of cousins and friends.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to the first responders, and the Southland Baptist, SAISD, and Goodfellow communities.

“Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28: 18-20
