Wanda Clayton Trojcak McGill went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 8, 2015 in Kyle, Texas.
Funeral service is at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 12, 2015 in Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sheree Harris of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery.
Wanda was born May 10, 1926 in Runnels County, Texas to Charley Neal Clayton and Jewell Bouldin Clayton, being their only child due to old age. Wanda graduated from Ballinger High School in 1944. Wanda worked at Civil Service right after high school, then she went to work for GTE Directory as a Compilation Clerk for the Yellow Pages and retired in 1979 from the telephone company.
Wanda is preceded in death by two husbands, Victor John Trojcak and Thomas Daniel McGill. She met Tom at 'Parents Without Partners' and they were married on April 2, 1979 when she was 71 years of age. Tom passed away on June 1, 1995. Tom was a healthy man, but he had had his two legs amputated. He passed away at Shannon Medical Center at the age of 93. The nurses at the nursing home in McAllen all loved him. He was such a pleasant person and had never griped about anything.
Tom and Wanda's base home was San Angelo, but they had a ranch in Sterling City. Wanda joined the Methodist Church in San Angelo and taught Sunday School classes. Tom and Wanda spent most of their time traveling all over the US and into Alaska, Mexico, and Canada, making friends along the way. After their health and age kept them from traveling, they spent the summers in Colorado and winters in Rio Grande Valley. They eventually bought a home in San Angelo in 1991.
Wanda was a loving daughter, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin, sister-in-law, and friend during her life.
Survivors include her daughters Vicki Trojcak Loika of San Angelo and Susan C. Nass of Seattle, Washington; son Robert C. Trojcak, Sr. of Kyle, Texas; step-daughter Helen McGill Burgis of Edna, Texas; step-son Wayne McGill and wife Shirley; grandchildren: Danielle Renee Trojcak of Houston, Texas, Robert C. Trojcak, Jr. and wife Amber of Kyle, Texas, and Karen Classen and husband Mike of Lewisburg, Kansas; and great-grandchildren: Tyler Clayton Trojcak, Cage Loika, and Kennison Loika.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of San Angelo or Meals on Wheels.
The family wishes to express special thanks to the staff at Legend Oaks in Kyle, Texas, Pastor Huntington, and Birdie at First United Methodist Church.
