Florence "Baby" Dalton, 92, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2015. Baby was born July 24, 1922, in Wortham, Texas. She married Gordon Dalton, June 23, 1946, in San Angelo, Texas, and they just celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary.
Baby was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and baked the bread for the communion service for approximately 10 years. She had great faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and tremendous love for all of her family. She retired from Monarch Tile after 28 years. She was past president of the American Legion Auxiliary, and was active in the Lions Club Auxiliary, Boys Ranch, and Mended Hearts.
Baby was a fabulous cook and enjoyed hosting family gatherings. She was always ready to give a helping hand to everyone who needed her. She loved to dance. They were members of La Paloma Dance Club and enjoyed many years of square dancing. Her earlier years with Gordon were filled with various activities such as hunting, fishing, collecting arrowheads and even hunting rattlesnakes.
Baby was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Healy Sr. and Ophelia McMillan Healy; and sisters Earline Eaves and Gladys Dennis.
Survivors include her husband, Gordon; brother Frank Healy Jr.; sister Nancy Woodard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at Johnson's Funeral Home. Funeral service is at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Bill Proctor with burial following in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Robert Allison, Bill Eaves, Kelly Eaves, Rex Enochs, Dick Meyer and Mark Woodard.
