A City Boy in a Cowboy Hat
Ed Blackburn passed Saturday night surrounded by his loved ones in San Angelo, TX. A real estate man by trade, he spent his life pursuing his passions which included writing, photography, and Texas history. A consummate Texan, he loved the outdoors and spent much of his time hiking and hunting on the property in West Texas that he called home. Ed will be remembered as a storyteller, able to capture and hold an audience just through his dynamic personality. Ed is survived by his mother, Sadie Gwin Blackburn; his brother, Robert A. Blackburn Sr. and his family; his daughter, Sarah Catherine Blackburn and her family, and his furry companions.
A memorial service will be held in Houston at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church Wednesday, July 1st at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made in his memory to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation.
