Velma Jean Ault, age 80, of San Angelo, passed away May 10, 2015, at the Senior Care Meadow Creek. "Jeanie" to her family and friends, was born December 2, 1934 in San Angelo, Texas to parents Elzie and Velma Ault, who preceded her in death, but she is survived by numerous cousins from the Aults and Jennings side of her family.
Jeanie had a deep love of music and was an accomplished pianist and violinist so when she graduated from San Angelo High School she worked as a private music teacher. She eventually moved to Dallas and worked at the Baptist Book Store and moved to Austin where she worked for the University of Texas film department. Later in her life she played and entertained in her home on her beloved baby grand Steinway piano. Her other passion was traveling the world. She traveled with friends and church groups to 38 countries plus 39 states. While growing up, Jeanie's father, Elzie, was a rancher so Jeanie grew up surrounded by horses, dogs and cats, and she loved all animals She also loved sending greeting cards to family and friends and watching her large collection of old movies..
Jeanie was a long standing member of The First Baptist Church in San Angelo. She was involved in the church "Christmas Shoe Box for Children" project and worked tirelessly decorating and filling many children's boxes with school supplies and small personal items for church members and friends. These boxes were sent to poor countries and brought joy to the hearts of children that had very little. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be donated to favorite charities in her honor.
