Darat Brennan, 68, of San Angelo, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2015 in San Angelo. Darat was born in Buriram, Thailand on April 6, 1946. She spent her childhood growing up there and in July of 1969, she met her future husband, CMSgt (Ret) James A. Brennan, and they have been together ever since. She moved to the Philippines in February 1973 and left for San Antonio, Texas in September of 1981. In September of 1989, they both relocated to San Angelo and stayed here after his retirement in August 1995. She loved the role of an AF spouse and was always there to offer help
and assistance to other dependents.
In February of 1998 she was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Instead of quitting, she fought through four surgeries and led a normal life since. A special thanks to Dr. Chris Barnett and his staff and Dr. Duarte and his staff for the most amazing last 17 years. She never quit and kept on.
She is survived by her husband, Jim and numerous relatives in Thailand. She also has made numerous friends and in-laws from Ireland and England, her new relatives.
She was loved by all.
A special word of thanks is deserved by the following: Oratai, Dyan, T. Jonathan, Leila & Landon; Mike and Becky; Pat and Patti; John and Margarit; Neuro/Stroke Unit at Shannon Hospital; House of Hope Hospice; Faith Garcia from Comfort Keepers and the staff of San Angelo Home Health.
Memorials should be given to Meals for the Elderly, her favorite charity. Visitation was held from 6:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Johnson's Funeral Home. A separate Buddhist service will be conducted at a later date at the Temple in San Antonio. You may send the family condolences online at www.johnsons_funeralhome.com .
