Our beautiful mom & grandma was a blessing in our life. She had the
most amazing & beautiful heart anyone could have ever known. She loved her
family and everyone she met. She was a great wife, mother, grandmother, and all
around great Godly woman.
She spent her life serving her God through many activities at the 1st Baptist Church, were she was a member for over 50 years. She taught a Spanish Sunday school class and helped with Vacation Bible School. She was a member of the WMU and also served as the language director of Runnels Association. Along with her husband, she spent 35 years as a custodian for the church.
Paz loved her family deeply. Nothing gave her more happiness
than going to visit her family. Sitting at the kitchen table talking with her
sisters was one thing she always treasured. Her other treasures included her
children & grandchildren. Her smile was always radiant when she had her family
at her house. There was never a moment when she wasn't there when her family
needed her. She was always the constant peace & comfort of her family.
There was one person who Paz loved the most and that was her husband, Manuel. She enjoyed spending numerous hours in the kitchen cooking his favorite meals, which always included fresh homemade tortillas. She loved tagging along with him on fishing trips. It wasn't about the fish they caught, but more importantly the quality time they spent together. They were married for 65 years, and everyday
married to her best friend was the best day of her life.
She is survived by her husband, Manuel Sanchez; her children, Eliseo Sanchez of San Angelo, Albert and wife Annette Sanchez of Dallas, Rosa Worley, Janie and husband John Tombs, Susan and husband Martin DeLaGarza, Michelle and husband John Penner, all of Bronte. She is survived by 35 grandchildren and 47 great grandchildren, and 4 sisters and 1 brother.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Santos Martinez and Geronima Zavala; two children, Santos and Sylvia Sanchez; her sister Mary Helen Martinez, and her grandson, Lorenzo DeLaGarza.
