Peggy Ann Williams, 63, passed away January 22, 2015 at her residence due to complications of illness. She was born on March 4, 1951, in Ballinger, Texas to Clyde and Lillian Socha Williams, she was the oldest of three children. She graduated from Ballinger High School and moved to San Angelo to attend Angelo State University. She earned a Bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University and a Master's degree from A.S.U. Peggy taught at Grand Falls Royalty near Ft. Stockton, in 1975. In 1976 she moved to San Angelo and began her teaching/coaching career at Central High School, then Lee Jr. High. She coached tennis and taught Health until she retired in 2003 when she began substituting for S.A.I.S.D. Peggy had no children of her own, but considered her students her "children". Peggy had a superb memory and remembered all the students names and genuinely cared about their well-being. She was belovedly called "Coach", "Old Smoky" and "Miss Piggy". Peggy was known for her sence of humor. She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. Preceding her in death were her parents Clyde Williams and Lillian Williams Holubec, stepfather Alfons Hdubec and brother Dan Williams. Peggy is survived by her brother David Williams (Teresa) and nieces and nephews, Ashley, Tiffany and Zachary Williams, and Katelin Steadman (Justin), Hayze Steadman, Callie Williams and Tara Williams, many caring relatives, her beloved parrot Mitilda and dog, Nick. There will be no formal visitation, however Peggy will be "in state" at Johnson's Funeral Home on Sunday, February 1st, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., for those wishing to express their sympathy. A graveside service will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery at Ballinger, TX., on Tuesday, February 3, at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Johnson's Funeral Home to help defray cost of the funeral.
