As a young girl and throughout her life, her effervescent personality attracted all those around her. She excelled in all physical activities and had a great love for the outdoors. She was an expert skier, swimmer, and horseback rider. One of her most treasured keepsakes was her "Most Valuable Player" trophy she had received from her childhood softball team.
After High School she moved to California where she earned her BA degree in psychology. It was here that she met her life partner, Julie. They became soul mates for the next 30 years. She had several businesses, notably, a ticket agency and computer repair but she was entrepreneurial even in her youth by delivering newspapers on her bicycle.
Susan did nothing halfway. She always gave it everything she had. She had a zeal for life and a zest for living. Her imagination was boundless and always coming up with innovative designs and ideas for everything around her. She had a great love for building things, including an amazing rock waterfall and her "very own" tree house. She had a wonderful "green thumb" creating a tropical paradise in her home and yard.
Susan was a hopeless romantic when it came to animals and would rescue anything. She always had her faithful dachshunds, several cats and a horse by her side. She dreamed of a place to live where she could have as many animals as she could and to live in a house where she could have her horse in the yard. She was no stranger to finding adoptive homes for animals she could not keep. Just about everyone she knew has received an animal rescue from her.
In 1992 she moved to Florida where she made her home. She went back to school for her Masters and found her passion in writing. She was a very talented Poet. Susan entered many writing contests and received critical acclaim. Her desire was to be published but her passion was to share her feelings and reach others hearts with her words.
She had a love for music and was always learning to play her guitar. She would sing beautifully and play music of all varieties. She found that songs could say the things she could not. Susan would dedicate songs she loved to the people in her life that she loved. She loved to laugh and had the most infectious laugh causing others to laugh spontaneously.
Susan is preceded in death by her grandparents and her two cousins Lori and Bill. Susan is survived by her life partner Julie Smith, her parents Dave and Pat Walker her sister Jennifer Hunt, two brothers Tom Hunt and Wayne Walker, her three aunts Carole Walker, Christie Burton, Trula Gatenbee and their families. Two nieces Cortney Hunt and Heather Zacarias and her three nephews Brett Lamb Jason Primos and Ian Vance.
We will all miss her beyond words.
