Last week was a busy one for local law enforcement despite it being the week of being merry and bright. Maybe some people celebrated too much, which is why DWI/DUI topped the week’s crime, along with domestic violence.
Out of the 108 arrests made from Dec. 22 through early this morning, there were 59 people booked on new complaints. Fifty-five of those arrests were warrant related.
Additionally, DWI/DUI and domestic violence numbers tied with 15 arrests in each category. Here are the additional crimes that made the report for Christmas week.
- Public Intoxication: 4
- Resisting Arrest: 2
- Possession of Marijuana: 11
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: 2
- Unlawful Carry of Weapon: 1
- Possession of Controlled Substance: 6
- Evading Arrest: 2
- Driving on Left: 1
- Driving While License Invoked: 8
- Expired Registration: 1
- TDCJ Hold: 1
- ICE Hold: 1
- Possession of Dangerous Drug: 1
- Criminal Trespass: 2
- Theft of Property/Shoplifting: 4
- False Drug Test: 1
- Fail to Identify Fugitive: 1
With this being New Year’s Eve week, only time will tell what crimes criminals will bring.
