Brandy Ramirez takes the helm of the San Angelo LIVE! editorial team effective today. Mrs. Ramirez has been writing for San Angelo LIVE! since July 2015 as a senior reporter, assuming much of the civic reporting duties for this website.
Before San Angelo LIVE! found her, Ramirez previously worked as a freelance writer/editor. She also spent nearly three years as an English Language Learning Instructor at Angelo State University. Five years before that, she was an English and Composition Instructor at ASU, Park University and Kaplan University. While teaching at Park University at Goodfellow AFB, Ramirez was voted as “Teacher of the Year” by the students from the base.
Ramirez has a passion for the human side of issues facing San Angelo. Her work reporting on teen and unwed pregnancy, and most recently, the historical ties of San Angelo landmarks to ghost stories for Halloween gained a wide readership.
Ramirez is joined by a new writer on the San Angelo LIVE! staff, Brittany Clark. Clark is currently a full-time student at Angelo State University and contributes to our events and human interest beats.
Ramirez and Clark join the team here consisting of Dewey Weaver, sales director; John Basquez, operations director; Megan Holmquest, sales account manager; and Joe Hyde, publisher.
Chelsea Reinhard, who served as editor-in-chief from San Angelo LIVE!’s conception in Sept. 2013 until today was instrumental in finding and creating the unique voice of this news platform. All of us here are thankful for her talents and dedication to making San Angelo LIVE! the most read, largest news service in the Concho Valley region.
