If You're Smoking Pot in a San Angelo Home, Don't Forget to Pay Your Rent

County Constables were executing Writs of Possession to remove persons related to eviction cases from residences. In doing so, they identified a suspected drug dealer and pot user. Both of them were arrested.

On Friday, August 7, Tom Green County  Precinct 4 Constable Randy Harris and Precinct 3 Deputy Constable Mark Whitaker were executing a writ of possession at 2504 Sweetbriar #401. Upon entering the residence, the smell of burned marijuana overcame both of them. Whitaker noticed a drug pipe laying on furniture at about the same time. There was also drug paraphernalia scattered around the apartment. Constable Harris searched a backpack belonging to the occupant of the apartment who was identified as Keith Holland, 22 of San Angelo.

Here is where this incident occurred:

The backpack contained a handgun, 4.3 grams of cocaine, a quantity of Xanax tablets, a quantity of unknown capsules, 35.4 grams of marijuana, scales and baggies. Holland was arrested and charged with manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 1 1st degree felony; possession of dangerous drugs Class A misdemeanor; possession of marihuana Class B misdemeanor; possession of drug paraphernalia. Detective Sgt. Ron Sanders of the Tom Green County Sheriff’s office assisted in the investigation.

Wednesday, August 12, Precinct 2 Constable Deen Dickson, Precinct 4 Constable Randy Harris, Precinct 3 Deputy Constable Mark Whitaker assisted by Deputy City Marshal Ray Rich executed a writ of possession at 207 Greer St. in San Angelo. Once again, the constables encountered the strong odor of marijuana. During a safety sweep of the residence, Constable Deen Dickson encountered Raymond Hernandez, 39, getting out of bed in a bedroom. Hernandez was identified and then arrested for an outstanding city warrant.

Constable Harris saw a baggie of marijuana and rolling papers on the bed where Hernandez was. A partially smoked joint was also located in a makeshift ashtray very close to where the marijuana and rolling papers were. Hernandez was additionally charged with Class B possession of marijuana.

Detective Sgt. Gary Cole from the Tom Green County Sheriff’s office assisted.

Constables face unexpected circumstances and dangers when performing the writs of possession on evictions.

Here is where the second incident occurred:

OMG IF THE COPS WERENT SO WORRIED BOUT MARIJUANA AND COLLECTING FINE MONIES FOR THIS CITY MAYBE SOME OF THESE UNSOLVED MURDERS COULD B TAKEN CARE OF I THINK OUR COPS ARE ON DRUGS THATS ALL THEY CARE BOUT

Well if you actually read the story then you'd see they were Constables that were serving papers to evict that lead to the arrests, not police randomly arresting people.

And turn your Caps Lock off.

As Jim G. said: They were not there to BUST them for pot. They were serving eviction papers. BUT I will add, why are they walking around free? Time to lock 'em up for awhile.

Better to lock up the drug dealers then let them sell to kids on the block. Can't stand their ways of making money.
