Hit-and-Run Driver Identified

A 20-year-old San Angelo man has been booked into the county jail on a second-degree felony charge of accident involving death, after running over 23-year-old Gisele Jarmon and leaving her body on the side of the road

Michael Gary Keene was located in an apartment at the Emerald Point complex on Arden Road Tuesday afternoon, when Officer Mike Gesch located his gold Toyota Camry in the parking lot. The location of the vehicle had been called in as an anonymous tip.

Sgt. Cade Solsbery of the San Angelo Police Department stated after Keene's arrest that he had cooperated with police and gone peacefully to a nearby cruiser at roughly 2 p.m., and from there was transported to the Police Department where he was interviewed by detectives. Keene has been identified as the driver of the vehicle.

At 11 p.m. on Tuesday, Keene was booked into the county jail on one count of accident involving death, a second-degree felony punishable by two to 20 years in prison and a fine not to exceed $10,000. He is being held in lieu of a $50,000 surety bond.

According to his Facebook page, Keene is a freelance writer for the San Angelo Standard-Times.

In addition to Keene, 11 others were jailed on Tuesday, including one individual charged with public intoxication, resisting arrest and assault on a public servant, DWI and various warrants.

Twenty-six individuals were released on Tuesday.
