Mother Enraged Over Plea Deal in Teacher Sex Scandal

Former Grape Creek English Teacher Allison Lewallen admitted to having sex with one of her teenage male students in court last week, entering a guilty plea in exchange for a deal that landed her 10 years probation and forced her to forfeit her teaching license.

The deal was agreed upon by prosecuting attorney Bryan Clayton, Lewallen and her defense attorney Theodore "Tip" Hargrove. Called to order June 5 at 8:30 in the morning, the parties were content with the agreement, save for the victim's mother, who had shown up with a typewritten letter that was passed on to Judge Ben Woodward.

The contents of that letter, printed below, reveal that the mother was anything but happy with the deal attorneys struck. The words never reached the defendant, as Woodward silently read the letter to himself in the courtroom before sentencing. Here's what she had to say:

As I sit here today, and have to listen to the plea you have been given, it makes me sick to my stomach. I feel that if a man was sitting where you are today he would have had the book thrown at him and certain things would not have been thrown out of this case. Our wonderful DA that has defended you more than he has my child. The fact that he has made the offense date effective the day my son turned 17 is not acceptable, due to the fact that y’all’s affair started when he was 16. Improper Relationship between Teacher and Student comes with a punishment of 2-20 yrs in prison. The DA has made it very clear that he is not going to punish you the way you deserve to be punished. In fact, he never once took into consideration what my ex-husband and I wanted. I feel that if you’re not going to have to do jail time you should at least have to register as a SEX OFFENDER. The reason I feel you should have to register is because you fit within the definition of a sex offender, which states:

1.  Somebody who, simply enough, has sex with a minor, 2. A sex offender is a person who has been criminally charged and convicted of, or has pled guilty to, a sex crime.

As we all sit here today we have all heard Mrs. Lewallen plead guilty to this.

Yes, my son was consensual, but I feel that he was being pressured. Mrs. Lewallen was bribing him with the one thing he struggles with the most, that’s school. My son is Dyslexic and ADHD; he struggles day in and day out, and takes medicine, when needed. We know she was forging his grades because of the conversation that was overheard at school. He asked her if “he was gonna fail her class“ since he is 17 now and having to be the one ending their disgusting sexual affair. She was crying and begging him to please “don’t end it this way”. At the end of that day, when she was asked to leave the premises, he was passing her class. The following Monday he had failed her class. But none of this matters. I sent him to school and expected him to be safe. His life will NEVER be the same and neither will ours.

When she was questioned by the school officials, she was asked what was going on and she stated they were just really good friends. She also stated to the principal that he called her one night from a party to come pick him up. But the fact was he was with her and she supplied him and his friends alcohol. She would have them come meet her at her apartment or at her mom’s house and let my son and his friends hang out and drink. One time she wanted my son to meet her at their new house they were purchasing so they could talk. Again, my son was trying to end their relationship. That’s when she started sending him nude pictures of herself. After hanging out and drinking with the boys she would then have sexual relations with my son, who was 16. According to the DA, he was 16 ½, which to me doesn’t matter if you’re 16 and 4 days or 16 ¾, it’s still illegal, especially since she was 25. That is a nine-year difference.

The DA thinks that she has been humiliated enough by the social media and the newspaper for something he considers a petty crime. I feel that the fact that I will never be able to forget or forgive you for what you have done to my son and family you should have to have some sort of punishment that will remind you day in and day out that what you have done is so wrong. I hate to say it, but unfortunately, I don’t see you making it through probation with out messing up. This whole time you have been free you have tried contacting my child. We have now turned his phone off. If has been brought to our attention as well that you have tried contacting his best friend as well but the DA doesn’t seem to think this matters either.

I am not giving up on getting JUSTICE for my son and my family. I don’t feel justice has been served and that the DA was not willing to work with my ex-husband or I. So with that, I hope you can live with what you have done, because I can’t.

Now how sad is this... this family is having to deal with this with their son, and this person gets off scott free. 10 years probation big deal!! If it had been a man all hell would have broken loose.

But I thought people like that went to jail. Hmm. I mean, cause....isn't that a form of rape? Hmm.

Yes this is a form of statutory rape and yes she should've known better being an educator and an adult but you cannot blame all of this on her! The boy was just as consensual and for all everyone knows he is the one that started it... I think its bs that the girl is the one getting all the blame.. Like I said yes she should've known better but he is a teenage boy and what teenage boy doesn't fantasize about his teacher or think its awesome he is the one hooking up with the young hot teacher! So don't just blame her or hate her the boy is just as much to blame as she is....

he may be a child in the eyes of the law but I was not that long ago and I cant tell you how many horny boys there were walking around and how many of them of always talked about doing it with our teachers... he was 16 he knew better its not like he was 9 and didn't know the difference... he knew what he was doing and im not defending her at all yes she should've known better like I said in my previous comment but they were both at fault not just her...

I can tell that you were that age not long ago...no offense intended. Let's say your 16 year old daughter has sex with her coach (which happens). She gets pregnant and has to drop out of school. You are saying that your daughter would be just as responsible as the adult because she wanted sex? The fact that the adult didn't find anything wrong with having sex with your underage daughter wouldn't have any bearing? I mean, come on. Yes your child may have consented, but isn't it the adult's responsibility to be an adult and draw a line somewhere? I mean what is she was giving away drugs and your child overdosed and died? Would you not find the adult responsible as a parent?

People trust teachers to take care of their kids, not to give in to the child's demands....they are adults and should know not to just give in because the kid REALLY wants it. I mean would you provide your child with LSD or Meth just because your kid wanted it or would you say, "As an adult, I don't think that is appropriate."

She must have made a pretty little victim in their eyes. Look at that smile, those eyes, she can't be made to pay for her crime. It would ruin her sick an depraved life.

Any adult who has those kinds of feelings for a child has problems, mentally.

In the future, when it is a male teacher that is 9 years older than the female student, just watch what happens.

And rightly so.

Where are your morals? We're talking about a teacher having sex with a student. Regardless of consent, teachers are supposed to be mentors and not take advantage of adolescents!! I sure as hell hope you dont have any daughters, because from your stand point, it would be ok for her to have sex with her teacher!! Are you prepared to have that in your hands?? This was a terrible injustice by all involved in this case from the attorneys, DA, and judge!!! Terrible, just terrible.

Obviously the teacher hasn't learned her lesson since she is still trying to contact him. No justice here at all.

OMGeee, I cannot believe the punishment for this person. Moreover, how could Judge Woodward feel that "Probation" is just punishment for a SEX OFFENDER!! YES.... Sex Offender. The fact that it was consensual does not change the fact that he was a minor, and all she got was probation. THIS City's lawmakers and "upholders" are unreal, a total joke and its disgusting. Yes, I agree with the mother, a sex crime, is a sex crime, is a sex crime and No matter how you see it, That so called "Lady" should be ordered to register as a Convicted Sex Offender JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE who commits ANY type of sex crime!! I could go on but what the hec for.......There's no justice here anyway!!! Ugghhhh!!!

Really? You are ENRAGED over the teacher's punishment?? Really??? Your son (yes, he's a child, I get it) HAD SEX and I'm sure he thoroughly enjoyed it. If you are ENRAGED over this plea deal, imagine just how ENRAGED the parents are over the plea deals for the drunk drivers in this Community who have gotten off with 10 years probation after KILLING people! Don't like the punishments doled out in this ridiculous system we have??? Do something about it. Run for a political office and try to change things. Until then, keep your rage to yourself. There are far worse atrocities occurring in this community.

Its unbelievable how many are making the victims to be at fault. Letting a 16 year old child choose between right and wrong, is why they are still considered children until 18. Now, a 25 year old knows the consequences. Choice between right and wrong is clear, "no matter the level of enjoyment".

My only point is that this Mother really needs to put things into perspective here. She cannot control the offender or what punishment the offender receives. She can control what she does from this point forward to and for her son. Focus on that and let go of the rage. There are so many others in this community who are TRULY HURTING over the senseless loss of a loved one due to drunk driving and those families are not coming out in the media to express their RAGE over the sentences of probation for those offenders. SMH....

My son is 16. If he were in the same situation that this "victim" was in I would certainly be upset about it. But, I wouldn't be ENRAGED over whatever the "powers that be" decided to do about it legally. My focus would be on MY SON and how to help him through this situation. This Mother is so focused on the "injustice" of it all that she is forgetting her son needs HER and NOT a stiff penalty for the teacher. If I remember correctly, this student initially did NOT want to tell the truth for fear of getting the teacher in trouble. Imagine what he is going through right now...He had a part in the teacher's loss of her job. He is a child and cannot truly grasp the reality that he did NOTHING wrong. But, I'm sure that he believes this is all his fault. His Mother needs to attend to him rather than going into a rant with the media.

The "boy(s)“ were SO traumatized by such "unholy" and "unnatural" injury damaging their innocent, naive morals”, I’m sure all the nanny nazis’ will be sure to plead to every taxpayer for helping these poor “victims” recover emotionally with all the financial resources the government has available! Turn in a teacher and win a lottery! IT’S ALL ABOUT MONEY!!!

Anybody ever wonder what the ethnicity of these so-called "boys" are? Jungle fever is irresistible to homely white girls!
