SATV Down due to Technical Issues

SATV, the City of San Angelo’s governmental access channel, is temporarily off the air because of a technical issue.

A computer hard drive necessary to air the channel on Suddenlink cable channel 17 crashed Sunday night and has not been able to be revived. City staff members are exploring the most cost-effective options for getting SATV back on the air.

In the meantime, citizens who would like DVD copies of City Council meetings can request those of the Public Information Office by calling 325-481-2727 or emailing [email protected]. Requested discs can be picked up in the Public Information offices in the basement of City Hall, 72 W. College Ave.

Gus, all of the videos on SATV are backed up. The issue is the channel server runs on four hard drives, and one of the hard drives has been corrupted, which has prevented the channel server from booting. We are in the process of pursuing the drive's repair. Anthony Wilson Public Information Officer City of San Angelo
