One on Friday, five on Saturday and seven on Sunday: assault and injury to a child/elderly/disabled person calls were the leading offenses over the weekend, landing 13 men and women behind bars. The majority of those booked for family violence were picked up in the early morning hours or in the evening, however some were jailed in the afternoon.
The total exceeds the numbers for both drug and alcohol related offenses, which include four DWIs and two PIs on Saturday, as well as two DWIs and one DUI on Sunday, plus five total jailed for marijuana possession and one busted with dangerous drugs.
While the majority of the individuals in the jail over the weekend were booked on local and out-of-county warrants, five were jailed for thefts alleged to have been committed between Friday and Sunday, plus one for burglary and one for forgery.
One more person was picked up for reckless driving and a woman was jailed for littering early Sunday morning.
On Friday, 36 individuals were booked into the county jail, while 28 were released. Saturday's numbers were lower at 32 booked and 22 released, and on Sunday, 30 were booked while 25 were released.

I hope the woman jailed for littering is sentenced to community service of picking up trash.
