Woman Killed by Teen Driver on I-20

 

A 47-year-old Seminole woman was killed in a crash in Howard County on Saturday, when the driver of a 2014 Ford passenger car struck her as she walked along the service road.

According to a press release from the Texas Department of Public Safety, Shawntina Marie Thorpe was walking westbound on the I-20 access road three miles east of Coahoma when she was struck by the Ford, driven by 17-year-old Bailee Nicole Barber-Grant of Big Spring. 

The crash occurred at roughly 8:37 p.m. on Saturday. Thorpe was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Bennie Green. 

Next of kin has been notified.

I don't know any other details than those posted above; how sad I am for the loss of a life. How sad I am for the PTSD the teen will most likely experience from this incident. My prayers for all involved are offered.
