DPS Offers $5,000 Reward for Wanted Sex Offender

 

AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has added Floyd Montrel Moore, 29, to the Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders list, and a cash reward up to $5,000 is now being offered for information leading to his capture. Moore, a violent sex offender, is wanted for aggravated assault and sex offender registration violation. All tips are guaranteed to be anonymous. 

Moore has a violent criminal past, including convictions in Tarrant County for aggravated sexual assault of a child for incidents involving a 3-year-old female and a 5-year-old female. He  has been incarcerated in TDCJ prison on multiple occasions and was last discharged from TDCJ in December 2012 after serving time for being convicted of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon. He last registered with authorities as a sex offender in August 2013.

Moore has ties to the Fort Worth, Arlington and Denton areas. His criminal history includes aggravated sexual assault of a child, aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault causes serious bodily injury, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and other felony charges.

On May 16, the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office issued a warrant for Moore's arrest for aggravated assault-serious bodily injury. On December 16, the Fort Worth Police Department issued an arrest warrant for sex offender registration violation.

Moore is 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs approximately 185 pounds. He has various tattoos on his arms, legs, hands and chest, including the words “Lord Knows I Tried” on his neck, musical notes on his lower right arm and a Polo logo on the left side of his chest. Moore also has skin discoloration on the left side of his face. He has been known to work as a laborer

Texas Crime Stoppers, which is funded by the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division, offers cash rewards to any person who provides information that leads to the arrest of one of the Texas 10 Most Wanted fugitives or sex offenders.

To be eligible for the cash rewards, there are five different ways to provide anonymous tips: 

  • Call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477).
  • Text the letters DPS – followed by your tip – to 274637 (CRIMES) from your cell phone.
  • Submit a web tip through the DPS website by selecting the fugitive you have information about, and then clicking on the link under their picture.
  • Submit a Facebook tip by clicking the “SUBMIT A TIP” link (under the “About” section).
  • Submit a tip through the DPS Mobile App. The app is currently available for iPhone users on the Apple App Store and for Android users on Google Play.

DPS investigators work with local law enforcement agencies to select fugitives for the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive and Sex Offender lists. You can find the current lists – with photos – on the DPS website.

Do not attempt to apprehend these fugitives; they are considered armed and dangerous.

With his list of convictions what in the world is he doing on the street anyway. He should have had enough prison time to be inside until he is middle aged. Good grief, let's do away with second chances when the victims are 3 and 5 years old. That deserves life.
