Sheriff's Office Busts Man with Pound of Pot

 

The Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office apprehended a Fort Stockton man transporting a pound of pot on Saturday, when a deputy pulled the man over for speeding and was met with the scent of marijuana.

Adam Eli Herrera, 32, was stopped in the 200 block of S. US 67 at approximately 6:47 p.m., and when he went to provide insurance to the deputy, the officer noticed a small amount of marijuana in the center console.

In a subsequent search of the vehicle, deputies located a plastic bag stuffed with marijuana that with packaging, weighed approximately one pound.

Herrera was arrested without incident and transported to the Tom Green County Jail, where he was charged with possession of item with unpaid control substance tax, a third-degree felony, and is being held in lieu of a $20,000 bond.
