I decided long ago to just let most of your writing mistakes go without comment but sometimes your laziness is so egregious that I am compelled to speak up. This is one of those times.

In your article "Young Mother Dies in New Year's Eve Car Crash," you say that the investigation into the cause of the crash is still being investigated. The INVESTIGATION is being INVESTIGATED? How interesting. Do tell us more.

Your writing seems always to contain such basic errors as this and, as I said, I usually say nothing, but the quality of 'LIVE!' could be so much better if little things like this didn't happen. As an everyday and caring reader I feel a responsibility to occasionally say something. Please take the time to reread your writing before sending it off for public consumption.

This article only needs one word to fix your "problem" with this entire article, and to be honest I don't think it needs it. Except to make some "Editors" happy and for people who can't follow context clues and such..

"The investigation into the crash that caused her death is still <currently> under investigation in Brady. "

So there ya go buddy, hope you can follow a simple article now.

Yeah, the punctuation after Hot? Not so noticeable until a triple-take I did viewing it. Maybe, like CNN, you should employ "Breaking News" as your breaking news EXTRA attention-getter.

I am Jaclyn's uncle. There are MANY factual errors in this story. More over, I am deeply disturbed that on the day we were burying Jaclyn, it appears San Angelo LIVE! chose to troll the Facebook accounts for phone numbers and started calling us to get the scoop on the story. We are deeply upset that San Angelo LIVE! called us asking about this tragic event while we were literally burying her. Before you choose to say these MANY factual errors could have been avoided if the family spoke with you....it is NOT our job to do your job. As a journalist you have the responsibility to verify your facts with reliable sources (i.e. law enforcement investigating the case) not by calling phone numbers of people who do not know all of the true and accurate facts. Just because someone opens their pie hole and makes a statement does not make it fact. This gives me serious concern about your organization. How many times have I read an article published by San Angelo LIVE! and believed the facts of the article to be verified and factual. I will never trust you as a news source ever again. Like many news entities you have succumbed to the need to be "first on the scene" without regard to accuracy. Shame on this reporter, shame on the editor and shame on your organization.

I see nothing egregiously wrong with the article that leads me away from the facts. The picture is beautiful. I am sure the mother was very proud of it. I believed the content of the article was taken from a police report before Mr. Hyde presented the police report. I am stumped by the uncle's complaint but I'm sure he is suffering from the loss.

Haven't you learned yet? The media isn't NICE. Their job is to get the story and get it out to the people. We ALL get upset about a swarm of vultures that feed off the grieving... and there's nothing we can do but yell at them to get away. (kind of like the telemarketers that we frequently hang up on!)

I THINK THE BIGGER PICTURE HERE IS ABOUT THE YOUNG LADY THAT HAS PASSED. MY CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF JACLYN. MAY GOD BE WITH YOU ALL TO CONSOLE YOUR HEARTS DURING THIS VERY DIFFICULT TIME. I ALSO APOLOGIZE FOR THE IGNORANT PEOPLE WHO INSTEAD OF SENDING CONDOLENCES OR POSITIVE COMMENTS ALL THEY ARE WORRIED ABOUT IS THE GRAMMAR AND FACTS ABOUT THE SITUATION. ALSO TO SAN ANGELO LIVE I THINK IT IS WRONG THAT YOU WOULD BE CALLING HER FAMILY ABOUT FACTS TO THE SITUATION DURING THIS TOUGH TIME. I THINK THAT YOU SHOULD STICK TO LAW ENFORCEMENT FOR THE DETAILS TO THIS STORY.

Any type of agency that reports things like this can always get things wrong. I find many mistakes in the Standard Times. It happens. Reporters are human too and can make mistakes. Maybe that reporter didn't know that Ms. Proctor's funeral was that day? It sounds like the reporter did what was needed which is to call the family and get the more "emotional" side of the story instead of just the facts. That's an even greater way to honor this young mother's life. I would like to give my condolences to Ms. Proctor's family and friends. Especially her young son. It's always tragic when a life is taken away. This is only compounded by her young son.

Prayers to Jaclyns family you are in my prayers

News is news & people only get angry usually when it involves them, sad but true. Media has always been quick to report, it is what they do & sometimes it is wrong and sometimes it hurts but it's what they do- deal with it.
My brother was murdered many years ago here & before many of the family had even heard and before Lubbock had given the report for sure- it was the main story on the noon news on klst & the sub standard times was running wild with it. It doesn't matter what the family is going through, news is news and the worse it is the more popular it is. Mud slinging sells more than the good stuff always. Again, sad but true.At least SA Live updates their stories with details when they get them & even own up to mistakes. When we confronted the substandard times to find out when they would be printing a retraction on the incorrect stories that had put out prematurely - we were handed a pricing sheet and told we would have to pay for the space. Goes without saying, It's been 20 years & i still won't buy their papers. Prayers to the family and also for her baby boy. Unfortunately in these days & times, no one can stay out of the public when something like this happens, hopefully they can circle the wagons and take care of each other. Prayers to all.
