A 19-year-old male and a 23-year-old male were booked into the county jail on Monday for racing on a highway. Both boys were booked by officers of the San Angelo Police Department.
Leopoldo Simon Ramos, 19, was booked at 11:45 p.m. and was also charged with driving while license invalid. Ramos was indicted earlier this year on two felony charges, one of which was a state jail felony theft charge of $1,500 to $20k, that occurred on April 29, 2014. Ramos was also indicted for injury to a child/elderly/disabled person with intentional bodily injury, a third-degree felony, for an offense committed on June 18, 2014.
Michael Castro, 23, does not have much of a record in Tom Green County, having only been booked into the jail on one previous occasion for criminal mischief.
The boys are being held in lieu of a $500 surety bond. Ramos is also being held in lieu of a $367 bond for the driving while license invalid charge.
In addition to Castro and Ramos, another teeange boy was put behind bars again on Monday, this time for driving while intoxicated. Daniel Alcala Cuellar III, recently indicted on two counts of harassment of a public servant for spitting on officers, was booked into the jail at 7:51 a.m. for DWI by deputies from the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office. Cuellar is being held in lieu of a $35k bond for one of the harrassment charges, a $20k bond for the second harrassment charge, and a $1,000 bond for the DWI.
Twenty-nine other inmates were jailed on Monday, among them foru apiece jailed on possession, pot and theft charges, as well as one more for DWI and two for assault.
There was also one charge apiece of car theft, manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance, organized criminal activity, speeding and resisting arrest.
Twenty-six inmate were released on Monday.
