SAN ANGELO, TX — Court documents have revealed what occurred before the Malone Street stabbing on the day before Thanksgiving.
On Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2025, San Angelo police were dispatched to the unit block of North Malone Street regarding a stabbing. Juan Padilla, 62, of San Angelo, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after stabbing his two brothers.
According to court documents, when officers arrived to the residence on North Malone Street, they learned that the primary resident had been locked out of her house the day before by her son, Juan Padilla.
Police were sent to the residence that day, but no arrests were made at the time.
The mother’s other two sons, who are both Padilla’s stabbing victims, went over to their mother’s residence to aid her in getting back inside the house and possibly remove Padilla.
Both victims showed up to the house later and went inside. Shortly after, yelling and arguing could be heard coming from inside the residence, according to a witness, and both victims exited the house and were bleeding. Padilla stood in the doorway, then closed the front door.
One of the victim’s wives called 911 to get an ambulance because her husband “didn’t want to die." One of the victims had an abdominal wound, and the other had a laceration on his arm.
Once police arrived, Padilla exited the residence and surrendered to them.
At Shannon Medical Center, one of the victims said he and the other victim told Padilla to vacate the house. Then, Padilla charged at them and stabbed one in the arm. The victim said he believed he struck Padilla, but also believes it was after he cut his brother.
Then, the investigator spoke with Padilla after he read him his Miranda rights. Padilla explained that the incident started the day before when he got into a verbal argument with his mother. She ended up leaving the house, and Padilla locked the doors before going to bed.
On Nov. 26, Padilla stated that his two brothers came to the residence and said he needed to leave so “mom” could come back home. Padilla said that he wasn’t going anywhere until a judge evicted him.
Shortly after his two brothers came into the residence, they began yelling at him to get out of the house. Padilla claimed that both of them started “attacking” him by punching him in the head. Then, Padilla said he retrieved a knife he had put in his pocket and began cutting or stabbing both of his brothers.
The investigator looked over Padilla’s head and did not observe any injuries, redness, or bruising. When Padilla was asked if either of his brothers had a weapon, he stated he did not see one but said one of them said he was going to “do something."
Padilla was asked what happened to the knife and he said he had cleaned the blood off of it and threw it behind the microwave because he had cut his brothers with it.
Then, the investigator looked over the porch and street in front of the residence and observed what appeared to be blood. He knew from speaking with another San Angelo police officer that, during a security sweep of the house, more blood was observed inside the house.
A search warrant was executed where more blood was observed, and a camouflage knife was found behind the microwave. It did appear to have been cleaned.
Padilla was arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Jail on Nov. 26, 2025, where he is being held on $500,000 bond.
