Grape Creek Woman Killed in Tuesday Morning Crash

SAN ANGELO, TX — A four-vehicle collision at U.S. 87 and March Road north of San Angelo left one woman dead Tuesday morning, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The crash happened just before 8 a.m. when a southbound 2014 Ford Focus on March Road failed to stop at the intersection and entered U.S. 87, DPS reported. The vehicle was struck by a westbound 2016 Ford Fusion in the inside lane, and the Focus’ left rear tire broke off during the crash. A 2024 Chevrolet Equinox then struck the Focus, and a 1992 Toyota pickup traveling behind the Equinox was unable to stop and hit the rear of that vehicle.

The driver of the Ford Focus, Tracy Danielle Daigle, 56, of Grape Creek, was pronounced deceased at the scene by Judge Susan Werner. Daigle was not wearing a seat belt, DPS said.

A 33-year-old man of Carlsbad, who was driving the Ford Fusion, sustained minor injuries. The drivers of the Equinox and the Toyota — a 24-year-old woman, and a 23-year-old woman, both of San Angelo — were not injured.

DPS said clear weather and dry roads were reported at the time of the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
