San Angelo Gas Prices Highest in Texas

SAN ANGELO, TX - The statewide gas price average in Texas is $2.64 per gallon for regular unleaded fuel, according to the AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch.

That price is seven cents less when compared to this day last week and is 18 cents less per gallon compared to this day last year. Of the major metropolitan areas surveyed in Texas, drivers in San Angelo are paying the most on average at $2.85 per gallon while drivers in Amarillo are paying the least at $2.47 per gallon.

The national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is $3.05, which is six cents less when compared to this day last week and 15 cents less per gallon when compared to this day last year.

The downward trend for fuel prices continues as lower demand, declining crude oil prices, and the switch to less expensive winter-blend gasoline help bring relief to drivers. With the tropics remaining quiet and no major storm activity disrupting refinery or pipeline operations, pump prices have steadily declined across most of the state.

“This is welcome news for Texas drivers as pump prices continue to move lower thanks to a combination of weaker demand and the seasonal switch to winter-blend gasoline,” said Daniel Armbruster, AAA Texas spokesperson. “With crude oil prices also trending downward and no major disruptions from tropical weather, many drivers could see continued savings at the pump in the days ahead.”
