SAN ANGELO, TX — A San Angelo man remains jailed after investigators uncovered dozens of child pornography videos and multiple videos involving bestiality, according to court documents.
Carlos Cabrera Jr., 32, was booked into the Tom Green County Detention Center at 4:36 p.m. on Sept. 4. He is charged with possession of child pornography involving fewer than 100 visual depictions and possession of marijuana under 2 ounces. His bond is set at $37,000.
An affidavit filed in Tom Green County states that the investigation began on Feb. 18, 2025, when a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children alerted authorities to a cloud storage account linked to Synchronoss Technologies. The account had uploaded 30 suspected child pornography videos, triggering a CyberTip report.
Investigators determined that the content originated from a cellphone belonging to Cabrera. His phone number and email address matched the account information, and a subpoena to Google confirmed that only one device had uploaded content to the account in 2025.
Authorities executed a search warrant and seized Cabrera’s cellphone on Sept. 4. During an interview, Cabrera reportedly admitted to viewing and downloading child pornography to his phone. He also confirmed his ownership of the account and device.
A forensic review of the phone and associated cloud storage revealed:
-
A total of 61 child pornography videos and one image described as “obvious” child pornography.
-
Three videos showing bestiality involving adults and animals.
-
Several videos of Cabrera dressed in female clothing while engaged in sexual acts with an adult toy.
-
Content dating back to at least 2021.
The affidavit also notes that Cabrera is a convicted felon with prior charges including evading arrest and bail jumping.
He remains in custody as of Friday morning.
