Menard, of All Places, Named a "Tourism Friendly" Destination

AUSTIN, TX — Governor Greg Abbott announced the city's designation as a Tourism Friendly Texas Certified Community, marking a significant achievement for the small town. This recognition, granted by Travel Texas, highlights Menard's commitment to leveraging tourism for economic growth and job creation. The designation positions Menard as a vibrant destination, emphasizing its potential to draw visitors from across the state and beyond.

Governor Abbott underscored the economic impact of tourism in Texas, noting that in 2023, the industry contributed $193.8 billion and supported 1.3 million jobs. "Menard is now part of the fabric that makes Texas a top travel destination," he stated, encouraging other communities to pursue this certification to enhance their local economies.

Menard’s charm lies in its rich history, scenic beauty, and budding attractions. As Travel Texas Director Tim Fennell highlighted, visitors can immerse themselves in the story of Presidio San Sabá, enjoy adventures along the San Saba River, and partake in the growing live music scene and culinary experiences. Mayor Barbara Hooten echoed this sentiment, inviting travelers to explore Menard's offerings, from historical sites to modern amenities like wedding venues and vacation rentals. Cherry Swindall, Executive Director of the Menard County Chamber of Commerce, expressed enthusiasm for the future, emphasizing the town’s blend of old-world charm and contemporary developments.

Menard’s historical significance stretches back to the 1700s, beginning with a Franciscan mission and the establishment of Presidio San Sabá as part of Spain's efforts to expand its influence. While the mission was short-lived, its legacy endures, fueling curiosity and intrigue. Another centerpiece is the Art Deco courthouse, a stunning architectural achievement restored under the Texas Historic Courthouse Preservation Program. Menard also provides access to the Fort McKavett State Historic Site, a vital frontier post from 1852 that offers visitors a glimpse into 19th-century military life through restored buildings and historical exhibits.

The Tourism Friendly Texas Certified Community program equips cities like Menard with tools to strengthen tourism efforts, foster local leadership, and implement strategies that align with state programs. This certification not only benefits Menard but also enriches the broader travel industry in Texas.

From its deep historical roots to its burgeoning modern attractions, Menard stands as a testament to Texas' diverse offerings. Whether you’re drawn by its historical intrigue, scenic landscapes, or lively cultural scene, Menard invites you to experience its unique blend of the past and present.

I am not a Christian, but if the state is required to enforce "gender identity" ideology upon impressionable youths, which the Leftist tankies have dumped into the curriculum across the nation like a solvent to dissolve social cohesion, the kids might as well learn about the Bible.

Now, if you or anyone else would like to stay a few steps ahead of Texas trends and news before they emerge, I invite you to follow this link if you'd like to impress your friends, family, and colleagues with the appearance of prescience. Good stuff.

It's only the radical penis lopping, fetus murderers that want gender identity crammed down 12 year olds throats. In fact the leftist males, if there are any left, would like to cram more things down youths throats (🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢) but laws don't let them. That's why Diddy parties did so well. There were no laws so they got to diddy all the kids and get away with it. I bet one of them leftist retards retorts to this comment about some mean orange man and how he diddied them and now they don't like him.

It's like the radical (as opposed to moderate) PLFM (Penis Lopping Fetus Murderers) is trying to groom the youth for a ride on something akin to Epstein's "Lolita Express." Where's "The Adjuster" when you need him?

Love the acronym. It's perfect. As for the adjuster I'm sure he'll be along any minute to share some link with us about the mean orange man and how he was touched inappropriately years ago by him. It's left a stain on his life and of course it's orange.
