Texas DPS Urges Texans to Report Suspicious Election-Related Activities

SAN ANGELO, TX - As Election Day nears, the Texas Department of Public Safety is reminding residents to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities linked to potential election-related crimes through the iWatchTexas program.

The initiative offers an accessible platform for the public to report activities related to crime, terrorism, and, in this case, electoral misconduct.

DPS outlined examples of reportable behaviors, which include election-related vandalism, such as damage to campaign signs or offices; threats based on political or candidate affiliation; and loitering at critical election-related sites.

Suspicious activities also encompass individuals taking unauthorized photos, asking probing questions of staff, or attempting to access restricted areas near polling stations or candidate locations.

Reports can be submitted 24/7 via the free iWatchTexas mobile app, the iWatchTexas website, or by calling 844-643-2251. DPS emphasized that iWatchTexas is not a substitute for emergency services, urging anyone facing an immediate threat to call 911.

The iWatchTexas program aims to streamline the reporting process, with submissions typically taking less than five minutes.
