Convicted Thief Arrested Again by Tom Green County Sheriff's Office

 

SAN ANGELO- The Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a convicted felon known for stealing.

Information from the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office states that on October 15, 2024, Jordan Velez, 38, was booked into the Tom Green County Jail for three felony motion to revoke probation warrants.

Back in 2022 and 2023, the Sheriff's Office conducted multiple criminal investigations where it was determined Velez had defrauded over 15 victims out of hundreds of thousands of dollars in money and assets.

Velez previously was the owner of several businesses in the San Angelo area including JC Asset Management and Viking Rental Services.

On May 29, 2024, Velez pleaded guilty in the 51st District Court to three felonies:

  1. Theft of Property $150,000 < $300,000
  2. Theft of Property $2,500 < $30,000 enhanced 
  3. Theft of Property $2,500 < $30,000

For his guilty plea, Velez was sentenced to a total of 10 years of probation. As of September 2024, Velez had committed multiple violations of his probation, and the motion to revoke warrants were issued by the District Court.

The Sheriff's Office continues to request that any member of the public that feels they were defrauded by Velez to contact the Criminal Investigations Division at (325) 655-8111.

Another plea deal and an even longer probation will certainly teach him a lesson and it will deter other crooks from stealing from innocent people out of fear they could receive the same punishment.
