Bodycam Footage Shows Arrest of Suspect in Apparent Assassination Attempt on Trump

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL — Authorities released body camera footage showing the arrest of Ryan Routh, a man suspected of an apparent assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump at his golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida.

The video, posted by the Martin County Sheriff’s Office on Facebook Monday, depicts Routh walking backward with his hands above his head on the side of a road. He was handcuffed and led away by law enforcement.

According to officials, Routh allegedly aimed a rifle with a scope at the golf club on Sunday afternoon before Secret Service agents fired at him. No injuries were reported.

Routh’s cell phone records placed him near the club’s tree line for about 12 hours, from 1:59 a.m. to 1:31 p.m. Sunday. He was stopped about 45 minutes after fleeing the golf course, reports state.

Authorities said Routh acknowledged why he was being stopped when questioned by officers. The license plate on the Nissan SUV he was driving was traced to a stolen 2012 Ford truck.

Routh appeared in federal court Monday, where prosecutors filed charges for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number. If convicted, Routh faces up to 15 years in prison for the first charge, with an additional potential five-year sentence for the second.

It will be interesting, (though maybe not my biggest personal priority at the time,) to see the looks on the faces of people who think the US is immune to civil wars, revolutionary movements, widescale civil unrest, economic collapse and social breakdown when conflicts break out around the country. They don't respect our candidate even after Larry Fink nerfed his movement. Get real about where this is all going, people.
