Update 1:03 p.m.
San Angelo Police Department Public Information Officer Tracy Gonzalez stated in a media briefing this afternoon that after dispatch received a call about shots fired just after noon, officers saturated the area in an attempt to locate any evidence of a shooting.
"They spoke with several people around the neighborhood that said that they heard two distinctive shots," Gonzalez said. "Reagan Elementary was placed on temporary lockdown, [but] there was no indication that the shots came from the school whatsoever. It was just heard in the general area."
Gonzalez said that police were unable to locate any evidence indicating that a shooting had taken place, and no further calls have come in since approximately 12:10 p.m. No injuries have been reported and the temporary lockdown at Reagan has been lifted.
"That's it right now," Gonzalez said. "Unless we get additional calls or we end up getting a victim at the hospital, there's nothing right now."
