San Angelo Woman Indicted for Assault

SAN ANGELO— A San Angelo woman has been indicted for breaking into a couple’s house and assaulting a man.

Monica Soto, 41, was indicted by a Tom Green County grand jury for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

According to court documents, on October 17, 2023, San Angelo Police responded to the 2200 block of Woodlawn Drive regarding an unknown problem. At the scene, police spoke with the victims and learned that employees from Rent-a-Center were at the residence to take items that belonged to them. The two victims gave consent for the employees to take the items from the house.

Around 2:00 p.m., the defendant, Soto, was contacted by Rent-a-Center employees. She responded to the address to take additional items from the residence. Soto did not have consent to enter the house and the male victim forcefully removed her from the residence by picking her up and placing her outside.

Soto physically assaulted the man by punching and slapping him in the face and kicking him in the groin. She kept re-entering the residence by pushing the male victim while preventing the door from closing. Soto, once again, assaulted the victim by slapping him.

Soto was arrested on October 17, 2023, and was released the next day on bond. She is next due in court on March 13, 2024, for post indictment reporting.

I can’t help admiring the fact that she’s doing the people’s eyebrow in her mugshot.
