SAN ANGELO, TX - The San Angelo Police Department has been made aware of a scam involving unknown person(s) calling local citizens demanding money.
According to the police department, the unknown person(s) call the victim and advise that someone the victim knows is in trouble and that money is needed to “help” them out.
“We have had at a minimum of two calls for service regarding this scam in the past week with at least one victim losing a substantial amount of money,” the police department stated. “We ask that the public do their part in spreading the word to help prevent their family, friends, or loved ones from becoming victims to these scams.”
