White Social Justice Warrior Nurse Narrowly Escapes Being Trafficked to Mexico

DESOTO, TX — A 37-year-old mom was apparently kidnapped and driven to Laredo after she offered to buy a homeless man tacos.

According to the DeSoto Police Department, Lacey Lyn Overby, a white woman, was last seen in the 1300 block of Parkerville Rd in DeSoto in the DFW Metroplex. Previously, police said Overby was at a Taco Casa in Lancaster where witnesses told police she purchased a meal for a purported homeless man.

Chris Adcock (in the photo), who said he was Overby's girlfriend, confirmed that the family believed she was offering a free meal to the homeless man. Overby was a nurse practitioner and, according to her Facebook feed, cooked bakery products frequently and packaged the goodies to feed the homeless. She called her creations "care kits for the homeless."

The homeless man was bald and Hispanic, aged 25 to 35, and was seen wearing a blue and white plaid shirt. Police said they believed the missing good Samaritan woman was last seen in her silver 2015 Chevrolet Malibu with a large dent on the left rear quarter panel. The car also had a sticker of a "bulldog." At the time of her disappearance, Overby had her hair pulled up into a ponytail and was wearing black hospital scrubs. Police said they did not know if a gun or other type of weapon was involved.

The alert of Overby's disappearance went out Thursday night, Feb. 1, at around 9 p.m.

By 12:45 p.m. Friday afternoon, DeSoto police said Overby was found in Laredo. Police would not disclose how Overby arrived in the border city with Mexico because disclosure would compromise the ongoing investigation.

"The DeSoto Police Department is grateful to know that Lacey is safe and that she will be reunited with her family soon. We would like to thank the local law-enforcement in Laredo Texas who assisted in locating Lacey," the DeSoto police stated.
