The Scramble to Save the Kid Who Crashed his Brand New Crotch Rocket

SAN ANGELO, TX — A minor accident occurred on the eastbound service road adjacent to the Houston Harte Expressway, involving a high-performance motorcycle. This incident prompted an urgent response from San Angelo EMS and police due to the potential severity of motorcycle crashes in this area.

Upon their arrival, first responders communicated via radio that, fortunately, there were no injuries. The motorcycle, appearing to be brand new with its paper dealer tags still attached, was already positioned upright on its kickstand by the time our team arrived. The rider's helmet and sunglasses, however, were scattered across the median between the service road and the expressway. A helpful passerby was observed collecting the helmet to return it to the motorcyclist, who was engaged in a detailed discussion with a police officer. The incident occurred near Cavendar’s.

As no injuries were reported, the ambulance departed the scene without passengers. The biker continued conversing with officers from the traffic division. There was no visible damage to other vehicles in the vicinity, leading to speculation that the motorcyclist might have lost control independently.

At witness reported to us via social media that a man in a jeep with a trailer the man just rented at Home Depot hit him and kept going causing the motorcyclist to go down. 

"[My] husband and I are in the pic[ture] and were witnesses. [We were] were right behind the jeep driver that ran the stop sign at Cavender's with his Home Depot Trailer and hit him with that trailer," wrote Michele Batten.

The incident caused a temporary traffic delay, stretching back a few miles, as emergency services worked to clear the scene and determine the cause of the accident. The crash happened at around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023. It was cloudy and cool but the roadways were dry.
