SAN ANGELO, TX — Water bills are on the rise in San Angelo due to increasing costs in operations and maintenance in the Biden economy.
The City of San Angelo’s Public Information Department issued a public notice on September 26, 2023, stating that residences using 4,000 gallons a month will be charged an additional $3 on their monthly bill.
The price hike is a step to allow the City Council to decide on potential rate increases in the next budget session next summer.
The primary issue stems from the rising operational costs and the current inflation in the Biden economy.
Here is the full message from the City of San Angelo:
To help cover the rising costs of operations and maintenance for the water department, City Council approved an increase for water and sewer rates that will go into effect Oct. 1.
The increase equates to a $2.58 monthly addition for the average residential household using 4,000 gallons per month. The rate will increase based on water consumption.
In budget workshops next year, City Council will discuss a possible rate increase to assist with the funding of future water projects like the Concho River Water Project. The City’s current water supply is at 30 months as of Sept. 1, 2023.

PermalinkWill they consider a discount when no water is available? I didn't forget how low the tanks got during snowvid. People should uproot their families and go to a state with cooler temps, greener grass and affordable, available water supplies. It's not like they didn't allow some residents in Paul Ann to get hosed in chemicals just a little ways back in history. San Angelo is fckd up.

PermalinkAh, I remember the joys of taunting the community from behind my anonymity before that drugging incident and attendant smear-op in 2018. Those were the days.
I've been saying for years now that San Angelo should be abandoned and that a monolith should be erected to ward away misguided individuals intent on resettlement for years now. Alas, San Angelo is a strategic location near a bunch of oil...
But we can dream...
