San Angelo City Council to Approve 4-year, $647 Million Capital Improvement Plan

 

SAN ANGELO – The San Angelo City Council will consider approving the four year, $647 million Capital Improvement Plan during the consent portion of the regular meeting Thursday morning.  The plan includes proposed capital projects ranging from $46 million for improvements at the airport to $270 million for water utilities.

The plan includes hot button items like $850,000 for Splash Pads, $10.8 million for a new Landfill site, $1,050,000 for Coliseum Renovation, and $1.6 million for Animal Shelter Rehabilitation.  

The CIP also includes popular items like repaving N. Chadbourne St. from Loop 306 to 43rd St. for an estimated $9.6 million, and $250,000 for restrooms at Meadow Creek Park.

Included in the $270 million for Water Utilities is $55 million for Water Reclamation Plans improvements, $62 million for Water Treatment Plant improvements, and $54 million for Lake Nasworthy Sewer improvements.  

The council will also consider awarding ES-03-23 Jackson Street Widening Project to Reece Albert, Inc. in the amount of $4,204,152.95 and authorizing the City Manager to negotiate and execute all related documents.

The San Angelo City Council meets in regular session at 8:30 a.m. Thursday in council chambers at the McNease Convention Center.  That meeting is open to the public.

More money for an airport that only has one airline choice. Didn't the airport just recently go under a big renovation. Let the airplane owners pay for the junkets.

With the inflated property tax values San Angelo should be able to afford all of this!! I mean everyone received an outstanding increase this year except our MAYOR.
