ERCOT Requests 4 Hour Voluntary Power Conservation

 

AUSTIN – ERCOT is requesting voluntary conservation for today, June 20 from 4 - 8 p.m. A Weather Watch is in effect for June 15 - June 21.

Enough power should be available, but an atypical number of power plants that use coal or natural gas have been forced offline, according to the Electric Reliability Council of Texas. Wind turbines are also producing relatively less power compared with how they have performed during high summer demand in the past.

Dear me.  I thought Abbott told us earlier that everything was good with the electrical grid.  Was he wrong or dare we suspect him of lying?

Dear sweet Lord, please don't let it get too hot or too cold here. It seems we can't believe our politicians. 

Just wondering, but is it possible he made that statement prior to regulations through the Biden administration that forced new shutdowns of coal fired power plants?  Timing can change things.
