Female Ex-con Indicted for Beating a Man & Stealing his Car

 

SAN ANGELO— A San Angelo woman has been indicted for aggravated robbery and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon after she assaulted a man and stole his vehicle.

Antonia Martinez, 39, has been indicted by a Tom Green County grand jury for aggravated robbery and unlawful possession of a firearm.

According to court documents, on December 19, 2022, a San Angelo Police Officer informed the investigator that he had responded to the Concho Valley Transit location at 510 North Chadbourne Street regarding a robbery. The officer explained that upon his arrival, he located an injured elderly male victim on the ground, suffering from a head injury.

It was learned by the officer that the victim’s 2018 white Honda CRV was stolen by the defendant, who was identified as Martinez. During the theft of the vehicle, Martinez brandished a black and silver firearm.

The investigator made contact with the victim at Shannon Medical Center where he was receiving treatment for his injury. The victim told the investigator that he agreed to transport Martinez to a location in San Angelo. During the drive, the victim became concerned and took Martinez to Concho Valley Transit.

When they arrived, Martinez began to assault the victim and allegedly pushed him out of the vehicle. The victim stated that a short struggle began as Martinez exhibited the firearm. The victim was allegedly pushed out of the vehicle through the driver side door by Martinez causing him to hit his head on the pavement.

Video surveillance from Concho Valley Transit was reviewed and the investigator observed the victim operating a 2018 white Honda CRV in the parking lot of the transit center. The victim was then seen being pushed out of the vehicle to the pavement by Martinez who left the scene in the stolen vehicle.

Martinez was located at a separate location operating the victim’s vehicle and was allegedly in possession of a firearm fitting the description given.

Martinez was arrested on December 19, 2022, for aggravated robbery out of Tom Green County and an evading arrest or detention charge out of Midland County. She was indicted on one count of aggravated robbery and one count of unlawful possession of a firearm.

Martinez is currently and inmate in the Tom Green County Detention Facility being held on $75,000 bond.

Why waste the tax payer's money, just put her on probation. That's probably what will happen anyway.
