SAN ANGELO – Developers of that new Enclave at Twin Oaks subdivision in Southwest San Angelo are in the process of extending Clearview Dr. in preparation for building new houses.
There are currently eight houses in the new addition for sale on the extension of Silver Spur and also facing Canyon Rim. Clearview will be the second street in the new addition.
The streets will include extensions of Royal Oak Dr., Grandview Dr., Clearview Dr., Silver Spur Dr., and Coral Way.
The West Texas Land Guys consists of San Angelo's Eric Von Rosenberg along with Lubbock builders Robert Wood, Trey Strong, and Kendall Cox.
To the west of this new subdivision Sierra Vista builders has a development and is also clearing land to build single family residential homes.
These two builds will boost the San Angelo housing economy as the Enclave alone will add over 100 new homes to the area.

The question I would ask is how much are these homes going to cost, and does the employment situation support folks' being able to afford them? Are the jobs there?
I had occasion to spend a few days in the Pearl Of The Conchos recently and tooled around the area a bit. Some things seem not to have changed: a lot of the roads on which I drove were so ratty I feared the side mirrors on my poor beleaguered ride would fall off. These were not in the rougher parts of town, by the way.
Some of the neighborhoods I knew as a kid are getting downright seedy.
Many of the drivers I witnessed on 306, Knickerbocker, Bryant, Houston Harte, and some lesser avenues drove as though they were training to become qualified to drive in the Metroplex and Austin where, in recent years, I have decided that Darwin is using automobile piloting as a means of culling out the weak and the stupid. I see it every day.
I must say while I was there I had some absolutely delightful conversations with typical San Angelo people. I have often said some of the best people God put on this earth live there, and I met and chatted with a few.
I find myself wondering what is happening to the town as a whole. I at times comtemplate moving back there, but then I think, "Yeah, but..."
But I still love the people.
