SAN ANGELO – A San Angelo man has signed a plea deal after robbing a man in January on this year.
According to court documents, on January 26, 2022, San Angelo Police responded to the Super 8 Motel in San Angelo for reports of an aggravated robbery. An official report was gathered that said three subject entered Room 218 demanding key to a vehicle.
The theft turned into an aggravated robbery when the defendant, identified as Jimmy Eden, pointed a gun at the victim. Keys, a cellphone, and a drink were taken before the subjects left with the vehicle. An investigator, who was working in on a call capacity, was briefed on the case
The next day, on January 27, 2022, two San Angelo police officers were on patrol when they observed Eden. He was detained and it was confirmed Eden had warrants and was wearing the same clothes from the robbery the night before as seen in security stills.
The investigator was notified and met with the robbery victim who positively identified Eden as the subject who pointed the gun at him.
When the investigator went to interview Eden, he allegedly voluntarily waived his Miranda Rights and made admissions regarding his presence, knowledge, and other admissions confirming his role in the robbery.
For the guilty plea, Eden would be sentenced to 10 years deferred adjudication probation. The judge has yet to sign the deal.
If Eden completes the terms of his deferred adjudication probation, the charges could be expunged from his record.

Sooo, you use a gun to rob someone, then get arrested for it and if you promise to start being good nothing happens to you? Still they wonder why crime is going through the roof.

PermalinkFirst, the dude should get jail time just for committing the robbery, additional jail time for using a firearm, and after those sentences are served a probationary period. I have little compassion for those doing this kind of thing.
Let us hope the judge hollers, "Foul!"

PermalinkCrime in Tom Green County is seen as a way to make money, at least according to our legal system. It's no wonder the probation building is in an old Wal Mart. They don't give two fucks about rehabilitation, our elected officials, judges and attorneys only care about the money they make circulating criminals through their "penal system". Which btw sucks total donkey dick. Pedophiles, violent criminals and the likes do not belong on FUCKING probation!
